Hands down, when I think of Torrance, two words come to mind. Kings Hawaiian. Truly, do we need to know anything else about this gem of a South Bay city? It’s literally a slice of Hawaii in SoCal. Ha! Okay, I’ll tell you more. First, let’s talk about King’s Hawaiian. This is the restaurant my family + countless others go to for a celebration, breakfast, lunch and dinner AND their bakery counter for GUAVA cake plus all their heavenly desserts and their wedding cakes…the goodness behind those glass countertops, it’s mouth watering? AND, and they have THE best breakfast in ALL of the South Bay. If you haven’t had the pleasure of having the King’s Hawaiian breakfast with their world famous French toast and Portuguese Sausage, then you’re missing out! Got kids? Make sure to request the fish table. They will be mesmerized, as am I, to watch the tropical fish chase each other around and around and around. I still request a booth near it just I can watch the children’s faces light up when Dori swims by. Okay, a bit more about the city…
The city of Torrance is the South Bay’s largest city which is split into four quadrants with North Torrance, Central Torrance (Old Torrance), West Torrance which has its own beautiful Torrance Beach just south of Redondo Beach, and South Torrance which borders the Palos Verdes Peninsula. With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop and 30 city parks, Torrance culture consists of locals enjoying outdoor activities all year through the 72 and sunny climate. Sitting more inland are the three regions of Torrance – North, Central and South. Torrance offers large family homes and a more affordable price point, plus excellent schools. West Torrance is a very popular area of Torrance with its proximity to the coastline and beach cities plus excellent schools, and has a larger price tag than the other areas of Torrance.
The newly built indoor/outdoor Del Amo Fashion Center, offers 2.5 million square feet of shopping and dining, named as the 5th largest in the United States. Less than 30 minutes from Los Angeles, Torrance offers tons of sand and surf along the Pacific Ocean, where locals love to ride the waves. This So Cal community is an ideal spot to live, with businesses, schools and abundant activities. With close proximity Downtown LA and the Westside, locals can commute when they want more diverse jobs, nationally recognized education, fine dining and red carpet entertainment.
